Finance for Non-Finance Managers
Workshop Overview
Attend this workshop if you prepare budgets, seek funding or deal with accountants as part of your role or simply want to improve your accounting skills and knowledge. The aim is to improve your ability to understand and apply basic accounting concepts.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is open to all Academic and Professional supervisors and managers.
Learning Outcomes
In this workshop, you will learn to:
- recognise key financial imperatives for managers and departments
- talk “the same language” as accountants and other finance staff
- understand the differences among assets, expenses, profits and cash
- prepare and plan budgets
- read and understand financial reports
- apply Du Pont analysis to evaluate financial performance and identify areas for improvement in your team, department or office.
Format
This workshop runs from 9.30am to 5.00pm and lunch will be provided. It will start on time and be interactive, consisting of case studies, group activities, and discussions.
Pre-work
Pre-work is not required for this workshop. However, you’re also encouraged to attend Financial Management.
