Workshop Overview
Attend this workshop if you manage a budget or funding as part of your role or simply want to improve your understanding of the University’s financial management system. The aim is to improve your knowledge of how budgets and funding are determined and applied within the University.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is open to all Academic and Professional supervisors and managers.
Learning Outcomes
In this workshop, you will learn to understand:
- funding in the Higher Education Sector
- government funding including International Fees, the Institutional Grants Scheme (IGS), the Research Training Scheme (RTS), the Commonwealth Grant Scheme and the HE Loan Program
- how funding is distributed within the University
- the Faculty Funding Model and the University’s accounting policies and procedures
- basic accounting concepts.
Format
This workshop runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm. It will start on time and you are encouraged to bring along your questions about financial management and budgeting at the University.
Pre-work
Pre-work is not required for this workshop. However, you’re also encouraged to attend Finance for Non-Finance Managers.
