Selection Criteria
The scholarship is open to staff who are:
- continuing professional staff who have been employed by with the university for two years or more
- fixed-term professional staff who have been with the university for two or more years AND with at least 12 months remaining on their current employment contract.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- have not completed formal studies in the last three years AND/OR have not previously undertaken study at postgraduate level
- are able to demonstrate that the chosen program is in an area relevant to their career within the University
- have attracted strong support from their Head of Faculty/ Department/ Office in terms of the relevance of the program.
In circumstances agreed to as ‘exceptional’ by the MGSM Selection Committee, approval can be granted for an additional scholarship to be awarded if, upon review of the last three years of MGSM rounds, it is found that we have not always been successful in filling the allocated 2 scholarship awards per round.
